A Pressing Matter

After watching Ben chop a clove of garlic a few nights ago (chop? mutilate? whack with knife while pieces flew wildly about the kitchen?) I finally caved in and bought a garlic press. I've been wanting one for years, but I kept telling myself I could just mince it as I needed it. Then there was the horrible garlic-oils-in-the-contacts episode a few weeks ago to push me close to the breaking point, and Ben whacking away with a knife to finally convince me that the time had come.
This is my garlic press making me some pizza.

So here it is. My beautiful new garlic press! Simple, metal, and small for my storage convenience. (Yes, it is perfectly easy to clean even though it doesn't have the special cleaner attachment that some brands so shamelessly market, and easy to hold even though it doesn't have giant rubber handles.) It's been a long time coming, and I am very happy. : )
